Kebbi APC Excos Donate Food Items, Cash To Destitutes

Kebbi State Hisbah board in one of its routine operations arrested some women in the state for alleged social and moral misconduct but during interrogation by the operatives, it was discovered that the women were forced by hunger and extreme poverty into such behaviour which the board didn’t mention.

However, the state commander Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad reached out to the ruling party for assistance who immediately instructed the party’s account Alhaji Garba Tungar marina to make available two bags of rice and a huge undisclosed amount of money to the destitute to be used as a start-up capital which if used properly can sustain them and restrain them from returning to their old habits.

In his remarks, the state director Hisbah Alhaji Abubakar Lamne appealed to well to do individuals in the society to always check on their neighbours to find out how they are coping.

He added that refusing to help them can jeopardise the peace of the society, which means even the rich may not enjoy the riches because hungry persons must devise any means of survival legally or illegally.

This, he said, can translate to a very unconducive environment for both the rich and the poor. He also stated that many are into crime not because they are criminals but forced by circumstances beyond their control, so it’s our moral duty to assist those in poverty to save them from being lost to the criminal world.

He called on other members of the public to set aside differences to help those in need.

The Hisbah board has since released to them but warned members of the public not to take advantage of the dire situation to commit crime but always seek help from appropriate quarters.
