The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas while receiving officials of The North East Development Commission (NEDC) commend the commission on their efforts in fight against insurgency in north east Nigeria.
During the courtesy visit, Muhammed Alkali, MD/CEO of the NEDC said that the commission was in the State to introduce the new members of the board recently inaugurated by the President and to monitor some of the projects going on in the state.
The MD disclosed that while most of the projects are completed and ready for handing over, some of them are at various stages of execution and will be completed at the stipulated schedule.
The state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, in his response commended the commission and pledged the full collaboration and support of the state government to the commission.
“This visit attest to your commitment to Development of the region. I am aware of the challenges confronting our region, both infrastructure and security. I am optimistic that with the right collaboration, we would overcome. The NEDC plays a crucial role in achieving our goals and so we hold you in high esteem.
“I commend the commission for their fight against insurgency and proactive in collaborating with the state. We would provide all the necessary collaboration and support to ensure full implementation of your projects in the state.
“Let me call on all other stakeholders to join us in achieving the desired development of our dear State. We can not limit ourselves to the government alone. The task ahead of us is enormous but not insurmountable,” the governor said
