Despite Supreme Court judgment on Friday on the leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party, Julius Abure insists he remains the National Chairman of the Party.
Abure in a post on his X handle on Friday shortly after the apex court judgement wrote: “Barr Julius Abure still Remains The National Chairman of Labour Party.”
The ruling of the Abuja Court of Appeal, which had previously acknowledged Abure as the LP National Chairman, was overturned by the Apex Court.
The Court of Appeal lacked the authority to name Abure the National Chairman of the LP, according to a five-member bench of the highest court.
But according to the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, LP is unwavering in its resolve to build a new Nigeria.
The Labour Party Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, and one other person filed an appeal, which the Supreme Court granted since it was deemed meritorious.
