In his Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the Muslim Ummah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a few state governors urged Nigerians to seize the opportunity to renew their commitment to the country’s development.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu greeted Muslims worldwide and in Nigeria, expressing his hope that the Almighty Allah will grant their sacrifices and supplications throughout this season and beyond.
The celebration of Eid-el-Fitr marks the beginning of Ramadan, a time of complete surrender to God Almighty and His mandate of selflessness and service to humanity.
“We are the sculptor, and Nigeria is the clay; we build it the way we desire,” the president emphasized during an iftar with Nigeria’s leaders of thought and conscience, calling on all citizens to unite and recommit to the noble task of creating the country.
The president wished Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Fitr and prayed that the teachings, blessings, and joys of this season would stay with the people forever.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri chastised Muslims for not forgetting the principles of love, sacrifice, and self-control they learned during Ramadan.
According to the governor, Nigerians ought to take this time to contemplate soberly on the situation in their nation.
He praised the Muslim Ummah for accomplishing one of the Five Pillars of Islam and cautioned them to exercise moderation in all they did during this time.
He claims that the Muslim faithful have completed one of the most strenuous Islamic rituals, which include a month-long fast, prayers, and other acts of worship.
He exhorted all Muslims to internalize the teachings acquired during the month of Ramadan by means of sacrifice, almsgiving to the poor, persistent displays of devotion, and mutual kindness.
Along with the Muslim community, his Kwara State counterpart AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq celebrated Eid-el-Fitr, the holiday that signifies the conclusion of the Ramadan fast.
The governor thanked Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, the head of the state’s faithful, on a successful conclusion of the fasting period in a statement signed by his principal press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
He urged the Muslim community to incorporate the virtuous practices of the holy month, such as almsgiving, abstinence from vices, and good behavior, into their everyday life.
AbdulRazaq called on the populace to band together in doing good deeds and abstain from anything that would tarnish the benefits of their fast or cast doubt on their sincerity as followers.
The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, also expressed her congratulations to Muslims who had successfully completed the one-month Ramadan fast.
Buni urged Muslims to be virtuous neighbors and share the festive atmosphere with their neighbors.
“I enjoin us all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season,” he said, “as we celebrate Eid-el-fitr, marking the end of the one month religious obligation.”
“The extensive feeding program that the government, private citizens, and business organizations have made available to orphans, low-income families, and other vulnerable populations really impresses me. Buni stated that even after Ramadan, this should be promoted.
In a message of goodwill written by Gyang Bere, the director of press and public relations, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang expressed his happiness with the Muslim faithful and expressed admiration for their commitment to selfless giving, fasting, and spiritual rejuvenation.
He urged them to practice excellent manners, humility, kindness, and generous gestures towards the less fortunate both during and after the fasting time in order to exemplify the true meaning of Ramadan.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri of Bayelsa State stated that Ramadan is crucial for cultivating the virtue of self-renunciation in every authentic Muslim, which is one of the major tenets of Islam.
Dr. Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, thanked the Muslim Ummah of the state and the country on a job well done in finishing the Ramadan fast.
In order to advance the state and Nigeria, he asked them to keep demonstrating the teachings of Ramadan, such as the qualities of love, tolerance, and endurance.
Governor of Cross River State Bassey Otu called on Muslims nationwide and in the state to demonstrate the genuine spirit of love and peace in their interactions with people of all faiths, stating that Islam is a religion of peace and forbids violence in any form.
He also noted that while this year’s Ramadan fast was observed in a season of tough economic conditions, the forbearance with which Nigerian Muslims adopted it is a principle that the noble Prophet Muhammed (SAW) enjoins them to live by at all times.
“For many Nigerians who observed the mandatory Ramadan fast this year, the reality of the harsh economic environment in the country put many families and individuals under intense pressure.
“But in the face of this daunting challenge, many people pulled through out of seeking piety. The completion of Ramadan should cause a reflection on those in positions of authority to show more compassion to the people.”
In addition to congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the success of this year’s Ramadan, the governor asked them to apply the lessons they learned to improve the lives of their neighbors and the wider community.

According to Rather Obi, the people should recommit to the values of love, patriotism, and unity in order to achieve the intended level of national growth. They should also use this year’s Eid-El Fitr celebrations to foster a sense of unity.
The LP presidential candidate expressed unease at the daily bloodshed in this nation in a statement released by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, one of his aides. He also requested that Allah be consulted immediately to provide swift intervention.
