LP floors other political parties in Idu, FCT

The Labour Party (LP) yesterday defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties at the presidential, senatarorial and house of representatives elecrions conducted in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at yesterdays general election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Saturday.

For the house of representatives election in Poling Unit (PU) 12, the APC, LP and the PDP got 48, 89 and 40 votes respectively. For senatorials, the APC, the LP and the PDP got 49, 99 and 38 respectively. But for the presidential, the APC, the LP and the PDP got 43, 103 and 35 respectively.

However in an extension of PU 11, where about 700 voters were said to have been registered and electoral materials delivered around 2:15 pm while election commenced around 2:30 and stopped at about 3:30 pm, by defranchising about 600 electorates, the APC, LP and PDP got 25, 56 and 16 votes respectively for house of representatives. But at presidential level, the APC, 24, the LP, 73 and the PDP, 9. Howevdr other parties like the APGA, 1, the NNPP, 2, the ZLP, 1. However at senatorial, the APC, 21, the LP, 56 and the PDP, 11.

At the PU 06 for house of representatives, the APC got 44, the LP, 81 and the PDP, 31 votes; for the senate, the APC, the LP and the PDP got 46, 81 and 32 and; at the presidential level, the APC got 43, the LP, 94 and the PDP, 22.

It would be recalled that at the PUs, some electorates couldn’t cast their votes, as they couldn’t locate their names where names were posted. Those who were registered at the PU 11, who were eager to cast their votes said that they appealed to the INEC officials to extend their closing time, since they started around 2:15, said that their pleadings were treated without regard and as a result, they were defranchised.
