LP – Senate, Reps Forms Are Set at N3.5m, N2m.

In addition to revealing its timeline and program of events for the February 3, 2024, bye elections, the Labour Party has set rates for the purchase of nomination and expression of interest forms, as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Labour Party’s national secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, issued a document stating that the purchase of nomination, expression of interest, and delegate forms began on December 28 and would expire on January 4, 2023, while the submission of completed forms must be received by January 4, 2024.

The party’s national press secretary, Obiora Ifoh, said in a statement that the Primary Elections will take place on January 7, 2024.

The party said, “The party leadership also authorized the following fees for both the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms, respectively: Senate, N1.5 million and N3.5 million; House of Representatives, N1 million and N2 million; House of Assembly, N1 million and N500.

Additionally, the party waived the expenses for completing the expression of interest forms for female candidates and candidates who identify as Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD).

The fictitious timeline that some expelled, dishonest former members of our party issued in an attempt to con the public out of their hard-earned money by selling phony forms has also caught the attention of the party’s leadership.

As they attempted and failed in the governorship elections in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states, deceiving some people, we would like to make it very clear that the Labour Party did not originate the timeline used by these con artists, nor does it have knowledge of the alleged account number that is being circulated.

We caution individuals not to pay attention to the bogus group.

“The forms for the bye-election can be obtained at the National Organising Secretary’s office at National Headquarters, No. 2 IBM Haruna Street, Utako, Abuja, where candidates and the public will have access to the party’s proper accounts and other crucial information regarding the upcoming elections.”

In an effort to dissuade them from running for governor, the Labour Party is also aware of selective attacks made by these bogus groups against a few of our party leaders and candidates in the Edo governorship polls. We promise applicants that they should ignore their bothersome qualities and concentrate on the task at hand. The statement said, “We also caution these descending villains to look for other venues on which to sell their trade because Nigerians are already aware of their disgusting gimmick, which has since expired.
