The dust and furore raised by the controversial letter Allegedly written by a Fulani group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore to Chief Nnia Nwodo, the President General of Ohanaeze Nd I Igbo Worldwide, may take some time to settle down.
The said had made reference to an agreement between the Fulani group and Chief Nwodo to work in liaison with the Imo state governor towards ensuring the emergence of Amb George Obiozor as his successor with a view to protecting Fulani interests in the South East.
In recompense, the said letter stated, the Fulani group will facilitate and influence Nwodo’s appointment to a federal position in Nigeria.
Ohanaeze and Nwodo had denied and debunked the allegation describing the letter as highly spurious and fallacious.
Nwodo insisted he was not going to be influenced and debarred from leaving behind “a viable and people chosen leadership for Ohanaeze Nd I Igbo”, and has sworn to do so unabashed.
However, why tongues have been wagging just as there is palpable apprehension about the upcoming Ohanaeze polls, the apex Fulani socio-cultural organization, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has totally dissociated itself from the said letter or any involvement in Ohanaeze activities.
“We, are not saying anything about Ohanaeze letter because we are not the one organization Ohaneze talked about. The letterhead is reading Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, so how can somebody ask us about the Kautal Hore?”, he queried when asked about the letter.
The MACBAN National President who was smug about mentioning his names, in telechat today, stated further when pried further about the author of the said letter declared” No, it is not our organization, no it is not our organization that wrote it. No, it is not MACBAN, it is Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, it is in the letterhead. There is a difference between Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, the letter heading is in the letter. So, wet in concern us with Ohanaeze”, he wondered.
Alhaji Mohammed Kirowa, MACBAN National President insisted he has nothing to with the factional group led by Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, “I am not the leader Kautal Hore, I am the leader of MACBAN”, he said firmly.
