May Day: Nasarawa workers gets lofty promises

The annual civil service rituals that is usually observed on the first day of May was celebrated by workers in the state amidst lofty promises from the state government on improving welfare.

Celebrating the workers day at the Lafia square, the state Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe on behalf of his principal, the Governor of Nasarawa State ,Engineer Abdullahi Sule, while delivering his speech commemorate with civil servants in the state averred that all outstanding promotions ongoing will be completed.

The Governor further stated that henceforth the existing embargo on in-service will be removed.

” 300 additional housing units to be provided through mortgage bank. Civil servants revolving loan shall be increased from 10 million to 50 million to accommodate more civil servants .

“Over 500 casual staff were absorbed into service. Government will continue to be committed to the welfare of workers. and more employment will be made in no distance period” He added.

Still on employment ,Engineer Abdullahi Sule assured of employing not fewer than 1000 teachers.
