The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs led by Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has commiserated with the people of Borno State, particularly the women and children who have been severely impacted by the devastating floods.
The Ministry decried the loss of lives, displacement of families, and destruction of homes and livelihoods while expressed its solidarity with the affected communities.
In a statement issued today by Musa AbdulRahman, Media Aide to the Minister, the Ministry expressed committed to providing support and assistance to the women and children of Borno State.
It stated that the Ministry will work closely with relevant government agencies and humanitarian organizations to ensure that the most vulnerable members of society receive timely and appropriate aid.
“The Ministry urges all citizens of Borno State to heed the warnings issued by the meteorological department and take necessary precautions to avoid further loss of life and property. By staying informed about weather conditions and following safety guidelines, we can minimize the impact of future floods.
“The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare and well-being of all Nigerians, and we will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges faced by our citizen,” it stated.
