Beyond Disabilities Human Aid Foundation ( BDHAF) has threatened to drag management of KFC to court over inhuman treatment meted on Demola Daniel in one of its outlets at the Muritala Mohammed international airport in Lagos.
At a press briefing in Abuja, Steve Rodstick Eze, director of operations of the foundation said staff of KFC “dehumanised and discriminated against a member of the disable community in Nigeria” by saying persons of nature are not allowed in their facility and prevented him from assessing the restaurant.
The action according to him ” goes contrary to the extant laws guiding against discrimination of persons with any form of disability in Nigeria ”
While saluting the management of FAAN for the action it took against KFC, he said, ” every responsible organisation in any society must abide to laws as no one is placed above such rules ”
” On this account, we have instructed our legal team to institute a case against KFC, the management will not only be made to experience the full weight of their actions ”
The foundation said it observed that most outlets of KFC fall short of the standards as they did not comply to laws of the country to continue operation as contained in the 2018 mandate of the federal ministry of information on the right and privileges of persons with disabilities.
