Super Eagles of Nigeria will miss the services of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali hitman Ademola Lookman and defender Ola Aina as they confront Rwanda’s Amavubi in today’s AFCON 2025 final qualifying match at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state
The trio missed training on Saturday as the Super Eagles commenced preparation for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday six encounter against the Amavubi of Rwanda.
This was disclosed by the Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe at the weekend
The game is however a dead rubber for the Nigerian side which has already secured the AFCON ticket after drawing 1-1 with Benin Republic at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium in Abidjan last Thursday
According to the Super Eagles Media Officers, Lookman, he picked up a knock in the team’s 1-1 draw against Benin Republic on Thursday.
Lookman was replaced by Frank Onyeka late in the game.
“His condition for the clash with the Amavubi will be ascertained during the Super Eagles’ final training session on Sunday,” he said.
Similarly, Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has already been ruled out and released from camp after picking up a knock against Benin Republic.G
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was also allowed to leave camp following the death of his father.
