The legendary bandit warlord Ali Alhaji Alheri, also known as Kachalla Ali Kawaje, was brought down by Nigerian Air Force personnel. Alheri was the mastermind behind the abduction of female students from Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) and construction workers.
On Monday, he was murdered in an airstrike.
Newsmen in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, were informed by a dependable source inside the joint task force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) that Kachalla Kawaje had died in Niger State during the military’s airstrike.
The source further stated that on December 6, 2023, the camps of Ali Kachalla and Dogo Gide were struck by an NAF airstrike, resulting in the deaths of several well-known bandit kingpins.
The source went on to say that Dan Muhammadu, a kidnapper and attack specialist in Dogo Gide’s camp, and Machika, the younger brother and top commander of Gide, were also slain.
He claimed that while on a strike expedition in Niger State, the three kingpins and several more were slain.
According to information obtained, the slain kingpins were believed to be hibernating in Kainji Lake National Park in Mashegu, Magama, and Borgu local government areas of Niger State; Kamuku National Park in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State; and Kuyambana Game Reserve in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
