Nasarawa 2022 Budget: Social Sector takes lion share of N51.46bn

The Nasarawa State Government has allocated over fifty one billion Naira of its total Budget to the Social Sector in the Year 2022.

The State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Daniel Agyeno, made this known on Friday during this Year Budget breakdown in Lafia, the State Capital.
According to him a total of N51. 46 billion will be expended in the above Sector which covers Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Finance, Budget and Planning, trade, industry and investment, Works, Housing and transport as well as Lands and Urban Development.
Agyeno said by this arrangement, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources has been allocated with the Sum of N4,908,190,631.27.
He said the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning has the share of N8,698,824,874.95 while that of trade, industry and investment has an allocation of N1,462,746,582.60.
The Commissioner who explained further that the Ministry of Works, Housing and transport has been allocated with the Sum of N14,047,454,480.15, said that of Lands and Urban Development has been allocated with the Sum of N3,612,359,537.10.
Agyeno, who disclosed further that the Sum of N23.13 billion goes to the administrative Sector, N32.73 billion to the Economic Sector, said the Justice Sector has been allocated with the Sum of N3.53 billion.
According to him, his Ministry will do all her best possible to monitor closely the implementation of all Programmes and Policies contained in this Year Budget.
He called on Accounting Officers of the Ministries and Agencies in the State to be guided by the appropriation Law and ensure that all revenues due to them are properly spend and accounted for so that the target of the budget would be achieved.
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on December 29, 2021 assented to the 2022 Appropriation Bill as passed into Law by the State House of Assembly.
Tagged a budget of Economic Sustainability, the size of the budget for 2022 Fiscal Year is N110,849,954,879.49.
