Nasarawa Assembly passes 2021 Supplementary Budget into Law

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Monday passed into Law the Supplementary budget of N5.98 bn earlier presented to them by the Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

Speaker of the Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, announced the passage of the Bill after the House Majority Leader Tanko Tunga (APC Awe North Constituency), moved a motion to that effect after it has passed third reading and was seconded by the Minority leader (Abel Bala PDP Nasarawa Eggon West Constituency), during the House seating in Lafia, the State Capital.

According to him, the Supplementary Budget passed, when assented to by the governor would be used to effect the completion of ongoing projects in the State.

While commending his colleagues for their commitment to ensuring the speedy passage of the bill into Law, the Speaker said the Supplementary budget size stand at N5, 975, 076, 812.86, with a Recurrent expenditure of N3, 620, 618, 735.86 and Capital expenditure of N2, 354, 458, 077) only.

He subsequently directed the clerk of the Assembly to produce a clean copy of the Bill for the Governor to endorse.

It would be recalled that the State governor, Abdullahi Sule, on November 13, 2021, presented a Supplementary Budget of over N8.67bn to the Lawmakers for approval.

Governor Sule on that occasion promised that upon the House consideration and approval, his administration would use the amount to complete ongoing projects in various parts of the State.
