NAUTH CMD praised for his achievements as workers enjoy end-of-year party

It was an atmosphere of jubilation and a joyous moment for all the staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University teaching hospital Nnewi as the Chief Medical Director Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja Ifeoma Ejiamatu feted them at the end of year party organized at the hospital.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Obis and friends of NAUTH family.

Among them were the Chief Medical Director Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja(OON) Ifeoma Ejiamatu glamorously seated, Obi of Uruagu Obi Afam Charles Ogidi, the President General of Uruagu community Hon. Innocent Okoli,Director of Administration Mrs Joy Ugochukwu,Mrs C Onwuka PRO,Obi of Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba Obidiugwu, Obi of Okpunoeze,Obi Okafor,Okwuruora Nnewi Agu Okonkwo,Obi of Akabor- Edoji Obi Mmaduabulochukwu Agbodike,Rev. Chibuike Okonkwo,TC chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State Engr Obiora, Area Commander and many others.

Speaking at the event, the Obi of Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba thanked the CMD for fulfilling his promise to take the hospital to the permanent site.

He commended him for his love and dedication to the staff that had brought tremendous achievements to the hospital.

He pointed to the allowances being paid, conversion of junior staff to senior staff.

Obi Onyekaba ended his speech by praying that God will protect and guide him in all his endeavors.

Dr Anyaoku the deputy CMAC of permanent site in his remarks shown his overwhelming joy and happiness for the gathering.

He revealed that it was a moment of thanksgiving for the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja (OON).

The Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University teaching hospital Nnewi Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja(OON) in his address welcomed everyone present and thanked for standing in gap for them at all times.

Prof Ugboaja Ifeoma Ejiamatu quoted a bible version Exodus 14:13 which stated

“Fear not m,stand firm and see the salvation of the Lord which he will work for you today, for the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again “he quoted

The CMD of NAUTH said that the permanent site seemed impossible task but this bible’s quotation kept them strong.

“It was a consolation, through it all God came through for us for the betterment of Nnewi, Anambra State and Nigeria at large” he added

Prof Ugboaja, the CMD proudly stated that on May 19th 2023,the permanent site was commissioned by the then president of the federal Republic of Nigeria Mohammed Buhari.

He stated their achievements which included building a hospital that people will comfortably come and be happy, conversion of junior staff to senior staff, payment of allowances, promotions of staff who were due for promotion, staff attitude towards one another have changed and others

“Today people are now happy to identify with NAUTH ” he added

Prof Ugboaja revealed the movement to permanent site was made possible by late Kpakpandu who was from Uruagu.

He noted when he was alive he prayed for the manifestation of this, unfortunately he didn’t live to witness it but his promise to him gave him the courage to bring it to completion through his team.

The CMD also affirmed that NAUTH is going to be the largest hospital in the whole of West Africa and proudly noted that they have 900 beds already in the permanent site and many other structures that will make NAUTH the largest hospital with public section in West Africa.

He outlined the work at hand: mother and child zone, Special baby care which will be the largest neurological in Nigeria and others.

He thanked the palace of Igwe Nnewi for building ICT centre which will be commissioned on 27th December 2023.

Prof Ugboaja described Prof Ofiaeli as the man that started the revolution movement to the permanent site and also the highest CMD that had given jobs and promised to follow his footsteps.

Rev. Father Kizito Okonkwo fully represented by Rev father Everest Okonkwo in his sermon thanked God for his love and also thanked the CMD and his team for their wonderful work to humanity.

He quoted Zacharia 4:6 that stated that “not by power nor by might that our joy shall be complete”

Comrade Ikenna Anahu,senior staff of NAUTH appreciated God for leading them so far after much struggles.

He commended the CMD for his work and good behavior towards the staff.

Comrade Anahu revealed that the CMD had cleared all the arrears, converted staff due for conversion and promoted staff that wrote exams.

Highlights of the event included merriments and sharing of rice and vegetables oil all thanks to CMD.
