NDLEA – In 2023, we detained 605 drug users, convicted 81 in Ogun.

According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), it apprehended 605 drug users and traffickers in Ogun State in 2023; 81 of them were prosecuted and found guilty in court.

Ibiba Odili, the State Commander of the NDLEA, revealed this information during an interview with reporters in Abeokuta regarding the command’s 2023 operations.

He added that 497 men and 108 women were arrested out of a total of 605 people.

“We encounter drug users during the course of our arrest and regular operations. These individuals are not treated as suspects and are not incarcerated in accordance with global best standards.

They have been determined through research to have a chronic brain disease.
