NGO Marks Drug Abuse Day With Students

A non governmental organisation, Initiative for Humanitarian Support Against Drugs and Substance Abuse ( IHSADSA) on Thursday 27th June held an interactive programme to mark the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking 2024.

In her welcome address, Ms. Chinyere Enyinnaya, Executive Director of the organisation went down memory lane in her school days and told the audience how she went into humanitarian project after attending a call for students to desist from drug abuse.

She admonished the students on the dangers inherent in drug abuse which will not only harm them but will also derail them from achieving their set goals to be useful in the society.

The representative of NDLEA, Mr. Peter who gave the keynote speech was at his elements as a drug abuse coach of many years, narrated different forms of illicit drugs and substances that could endanger the lives of young people, especially students hence the need to expose the damaging effects of drug and substance abuse.

Some of the schools that attended the event include government college Kubwa, Nigerian Airforce Secondary School, Tulip International School and others.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the supporting or organisations that graced the occasion which include, Jigidem Foundation and Kauna peace foundation, UFUK Dialogue and others.
