Niger Govt gives property owners 30-day ultimatum to quit road construction sites in Minna

Niger State Government has given a 30 day ultimatum to property owners affected by the construction of roads and bridges in Minna,to give contractors the right of way, for speedy execution of the projects.

 

Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, gave the ultimatum after he inspected the ongoing overhead bridges in Minna.

 

He disclosed that the State Government has paid compensation to most of the people affected, and assured that the rest people will be paid as soon as all the processes are completed.

 

While calling for the understanding of the people, the farmer Governor, however, reiterated that the State Government will not allow some disgruntled elements to disrupt the projects that are meant to benefit the populace.

 

He also revealed that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has also been given 30 days, to move its power lines, to allow the projects to progress.

 

Projects sites inspected by the farmer Governor were Tunga,Imani Junction, Morris area, Kpakungu, Mobil and Stadium Junction where he interacted with residents of the areas on the need to cooperate with the contractors.

 

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far, saying he is optimistic that most of the overhead bridges would be completed by the 2nd quarter of next year.

 

The Farmer Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, the Emir of Minna Alh. Umar Faruk Bahago and other top Government functionaries.
