After being struck by a car on the highway, Nigerian football player Jordan Chiedozie, who was born in England, is presently in a coma.
The 30-year-old had participated in the weekend match against Tavistock for non-league team Bashley FC.
Chiedozie and Bashley physio Reighan Taylor had a flat tire on the highway while returning from the away game.
When the player went out to check the flat tire situation on the M27, he was hit by another car, resulting in “life-changing, and potentially life-threatening” injuries.
“Everyone connected with Bashley Football Club is devastated by the news of our player Jordan Chiedozie, currently in the hospital with life-changing, and potentially life-threatening injuries, after a serious car crash,” the club wrote in a statement in response to the event.
Jordan had several broken bones and other physical wounds when he was brought to Southampton Hospital. He is still in a managed coma at this moment.
