The federal government has dropped the money laundering accusations against Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance Holdings Limited officer.
This year, in April, Gambaryan and cryptocurrency company Binance were charged with money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC.
Since February, Mr. Gambaryan, a U.S. national, has been detained in connection with the crackdown on the cryptocurrency company for allegedly manipulating naira.
The accusations were dropped before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, according to an EFCC attorney.
The attorney, who made the announcement, claimed that Mr. Gambaryan was only a Binance employee and that the charges were related to his actions.
More information will be available soon.
