NiMet expects three-day thunderstorm starting on Monday.

Thunderstorms are expected across the country from Monday to Wednesday, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, or NiMet.

According to the NiMet weather outlook announced in Abuja on Sunday, there will be thunderstorms over parts of the states of Borno, Kebbi, and Sokoto on Monday.

Later in the day, thunderstorms are predicted to pass over sections of the states of Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Sokoto.

According to the service, throughout the early hours, thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara States.

It stated that isolated thunderstorms are predicted over portions of Kwara, the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Benue, and Kogi States throughout the afternoon and nighttime hours.

The agency warns that during the morning, rain is expected over the southwest inland, particularly in areas of Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ogun, and to the coastal states of Lagos, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa warns.

Later in the day, thunderstorms were predicted by the agency to pass over portions of the states of Enugu, Edo, Ebonyi, Ondo, Abia, Osun, Imo, Ekiti, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers, and Lagos.

Tuesday morning, NiMet predicted sporadic thunderstorms across portions of Taraba, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, and Zamfara States.

Later in the day, thunderstorms are predicted over portions of the states of Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Gombe, and Adamawa.

According to NiMet, thunderstorms are expected in the early morning hours over portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Benue, and Nasarawa States.

It states that thunderstorms are predicted to pass over the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara States later in the day.

It went on to say that while cloudy conditions are expected in the remaining areas of the South, morning rains are anticipated over portions of Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Lagos, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers States.

Later in the day, thunderstorms were predicted by the agency to pass over sections of Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Imo, Edo, Delta, Lagos, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers States.

On Wednesday, NiMet forecasted morning thunderstorms over portions of the states of Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Borno, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi.

It states that there may be sporadic thunderstorms over portions of the states of Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina.

NiMet predicted thunderstorms over portions of Kwara and Niger States, with cloudy mornings expected in the other North Central States.

Thunderstorms are predicted across portions of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Benue States later in the day, according to the report.

With cloudy skies across the remaining southern states, rain is predicted in the morning over portions of Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom States.

The majority of Imo, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, and Delta are predicted to experience thunderstorms later in the day.

Because there is a significant chance of urban flooding in major cities as a result of heavy downpours, NiMet advised inhabitants to stay away from flood-prone locations.

It states that in locations where thunderstorms are anticipated to develop, high winds may arrive before the rain, so people should take appropriate precautions.

It urged airline operators to obtain up-to-date weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for efficient planning in their operations, and it asked the public to heed safety recommendations issued by pertinent authorities.
