The Nigeria Labour Congress, or NLC, broke into the Labour Party office on Wednesday in an attempt to disrupt the party’s end-of-March national convention.
The Congress also called for Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman, to be fired.
Abure was accused by the NLC leadership of organizing a “secret” conference without consulting important parties.
Abure has been pitted against the NLC and the House of Representatives caucus by the proposed convention.
Abure was charged by the laborers with plotting to overthrow the Labour Party.
The Nigeria Police, however, stopped the demonstrating employees from going into the party secretariat.
