Reports claiming that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited intends to raise the price of gasoline to N1,200 per litre have been refuted.
On Wednesday, rumors circulated that NNPC planned to declare a fresh nationwide fuel price rise.
However, the NNPC stated that there are no plans to raise the price of petrol in response to the news, which has elicited conflicting responses.
Olufemi Soneye, the Group Communications Officer for NNPC, signed the statement, which stated: “NNPC Ltd emphasizes it has not clashed with any party.” It’s sad that the Punch headline says that.
In response to the publication’s request for confirmation of the purported reduction in subsidies, NNPC said that the subsidies had been completely eliminated.
