NNPP TALKS TOUGH, SUSPENDS 6 STATES CHAIRMEN

The leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP has announced that it has suspended the chairmen and secretaries of the party of six states over anti party activities during the last general election

At a joint press conference by the chairman,Abba Kawu Ali, and the national auditor, Ladipo Johnson the party said the affected states include Niger, Ogun, Kastina and Kaduna.

Others are, Delta and Rivers states where the entire exco members have been expelled from the party.
Chairman of the party, Abba Kawu Ali made the disclosure to journalists in Abuja after the party’s national working committee meeting.

He said the NNPP has set up committees to reposition the party ahead of next elections and also to review the circumstances that led to the dismal performance of the party in some states despite adequate preparations and support from the national Secretariat.

He said the party has no crisis as being peddled by a section of the media. He said, “aside from Delta and Ogun States where we nolonger have recognized exco, we are comfortable in other states”

On the allegations that some people have been working to take over the party, he “you media men know they is nothing like that, we have in the past issued a statement to discountenance that rumour which of course was baseless”.

However, in his remarks, national auditor of the party, Ladipo Johnson, said the party is ready to stand firm on any of its decisions taken by the national working committee,NWC, stressing that “we will take hard decisions, no matter whose ox is gored, we are going to be the most viable opposition party in Nigeria as we will dwell mostly on economic and social issues to keep the ruling party on its toes”.

He said the NNPP will soon become the toast of Nigeria haven been ranked third interm of the number of legislators within its fold at the house of representatives and the Senate
