Anambra State government has said that henceforth the installation of cameras has become a condition for approval of any private school in the state.

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh disclosed while addressing management of Living Word Magnet School Awka in her office following report by a parent that a teacher, Mrs Ogidi Oluchukwu manhandled his child in the school.

She said the decision has become necessary for the monitoring of activities in the school.

She directed the removal of the teacher from the class, warning that the school would be shut down if there was any similar report that comes from the school.

While warning teachers against beating pupils, the Commissioner said, “any teacher who beats a child has become an enemy to the child, and no lesson from her can be understood by the child.

“Every child belongs to the State and the State cannot fold it’s hand to watch any person molest the child.”
