NPFL: Deputy Gov Idahosa boosts Bendel Insurance ahead Nasarawa United clash

Nigeria Premier Football League struggling side, Bendel insurance FC of Benin City’s morale has been boosted by the Edo state Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, as he redeemed his N1. 5M (One Million and Five Hundred Naira) pledge, following their 3-1 victory over Kwara Utd in Match Day 13 of the Nigeria Premier Football League last week
Impressed by the performance of the Benin Arsenals in the 3-1 victory against the Harmony Boys at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Saturday evening, the Deputy Governor who watched his state owned team from kick off to the end of the game made a promise to gift them the said amount of money as a reward for their hard work and to boost their confidence ahead of their midweek clash with Nasarawa Utd.
Insurance FC will be guests to Nasarawa Utd at the Lafia City stadium  in the Match Day 14 of the Nigeria Premier Football League on Wednesday, November 27,2024.
Hon Idahosa said that he was watching Insurance FC for the first time since his election as the deputy governor of Edo State and was impressed with the team.
” I am impressed with the performance of our team. We will see how we can encourage the team to improve. We are going to do all that is necessary and to give all that it takes to support  the club to get to the next level of progress. Insurance FC is our own and we will encourage them. We are getting to the top again . ” He said.
The Deputy Governor assured  Bendel Insurance of his unwavering support while also charging the Benin Arsenals to do the state proud by winning their next away match, adding that the Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration has a special place for sports in his development programme.
Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin,on Saturday bounced  back to winning ways after  beating visiting Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin 3-1 in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football.
Insurance FC have suffered some setbacks in the recent past having lost two previous home games – 1-0  to Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars respectively, including three points deduction punishment from NPFL Disciplinary body over alleged assault on Referee by fans in the Kano Pillars game
