Kano based Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars have revealed that their target at the end of the 2021/22 league season, is to pick the available continental ticket, among others. In a chat with our correspondent, the chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Yahaya Jambul, said they had put everything in place including getting the right technical crew to lead them back to the continent.
He stated further that their victory in the just concluded presidential pre-season tournament which was held in Abuja and the subsequent preseason was a pointer to the fact that they were ready to go all out there to pick one of the continental tickets “I can assure you that with the calibre of players and coaching crew we have in the club, there is no club that can stop us from achieving our set goal of picking a continental ticket. “We know that is where we belong and we can’t wait to return back to the continent,’ he said.
Jambul said they were not closing their eyes to good players, noting that if they saw any good player that would add value to the team in achieving its set goals, they would go for the player. According to him, “We are ready to bring any player that will add value to the team because we intend to have good players in all the departments; the attack, the midfield, the defence and the goalkeeping, so we are open to good players to add to the already that we have. “As for the technical crew; you can agree with me that the coming of Salisu Yusuf to the club has made us one of, if not the most formidable club in the country as well as the continent,” he said. New National Star reports that Pillars emerged as the winners of the Presidential Pre-season cup having secured seven points ahead of Sunshine Stars and Akwa United.
