Oduduwa Republic: Nobody can stop Lagos rally, says Igboho

Ahead of the July 3, 2021 Yoruba nation rally in Lagos, the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, a.k.a Sunday Igboho, has cautioned the government and security agencies against stopping the planned rally for the emergence of Oduduwa Republic.

Igboho, who has been fighting against Fulani herdsmen’s atrocities in the South-West, is also currently spearheading the agitation for Yoruba’s secession from Nigeria, to form a new Oduduwa Republic. Speaking in a youtube post in Yoruba Language, the stormy petrel said: “We are set for the July 3 Lagos rally and nothing and nobody can stand in our way. We are determined that we must split as this is the only way the Yoruba people can gain liberation from the ongoing oppression. “So nobody can stand in our way; not even Tinubu or Governor Sanwo-Olu.

We also warn the security agents to steer clear, and we are sure of what we are talking about.” Igboho has proposed the mass rally to be held at the popular Ojota Park, Lagos. In a previous rally held in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Igboho declared that the 2023 general elections would not hold in the SouthWest, unless the Oduduwa Republic is created and called on all stakeholders to support him in achieving the mission. One of the leading supporters of Igboho, Prophet Alaba Shomuyiwa, popularly known as Baba Confirm, of the El Adonai Cherubim and Seraphim International Bible Ministries, has declared that Igboho and his supporters would be in Lagos on July 3, and urged the Yoruba people to support the movement. But Afenifere, the panYoruba group, has distanced itself from Igboho’s secessionist campaigns, saying while it supports the activist on the need to rein in the killer herders that have stalked Yorubaland, it would not support secession.

Leader of the Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, said that; “the Yoruba people have invested so much in the Nigeria nation and would not want to lose it.” Instead, he called for the restructuring of Nigeria and the drafting of a new constitution for the country
