According to the Ogonis, they have discovered a plot by Wike and the 27 parliamentarians from Rivers to continually incite political unrest against Fubara.
Through a press release issued by ODD convener Comrade Solomon Lenu, the organization notified the Inspector General Police that they would organize a protest to take over Abuja’s streets if the state’s unrest persisted.
The group emphasized that they would not permit Rivers State to be turned into a political battleground while Wike prospers in Abuja.
As per the statement, “We wish to notify the Nigerian public and the Inspector General Police (IGP) that ODD will massively mobilize the people of Rivers State to occupy the streets of Abuja should they be allowed to continue causing tension that impedes peaceful governance, which is creating a false atmosphere of crisis and keeping investors away from our state to the detriment of our teeming youths who are searching for employment opportunities.”
“The state of Rivers cannot be converted to a political battleground while the minister prospers in Abuja.
“Therefore, we urge the President to restrain Chief Wike in order to restore calm to the governance of Rivers State as well as other Nigerian states.”
