Ohaneze call for calm, preaches hope, honours patron

The Igbo social cultural association under the auspices of OHANEZE, Uke Bus Stop branch of Karshi Development Area in Karu Local Government Area , Nasarawa State have ended it 2023 calendar year of event in a grand style celebration.

Ohaneze came out bold in one voice to call for calm among it members spread across states of the federation, expressing optimism that the fortunes of the country remains unshakable.

The patron , Deacon Ndubuisi Ibaiku in an interview , said there is no cause for alarm inspire of the dwindling economy and the hardship Nigerians from all facet of life are going through, as according to him with God by the side of the masses there is surely going to light at the end of the tunnel.

” So all that every citizen of this country need at this point is patience, calmness and never giving up hope . This is why we as igbos regardless of what we go through have always set aside a day in which we come together to thank God for sustaining us throughout the year” He said.

Deacon Ibaiku in show of appreciation over the honour meted to him said he will continue to contribute positively in the upliftment of the Ohaneze and to the society at large, saying any reward for hard work is a call for more hard work.

The Chairman Ohaneze Uke branch, chief Benson Emmanuel told our correspondent that the end of year celebration is an annual event where it is almost becoming a ritual among the Ohaneze members spanning 13 years without failure.

He posited that the end of year get together is no other aim but to thank God for His mercies and blessings having survived from January to December.

Also, Dr Cosmos Ugwu and Mr the Treasurer and acting secretary, Mr Emeka Ogbaeze, respectively reeled out the progress of the association in both membership and financial records. They said despite the harsh economic realities in the country , members of Ohaneze continued to show commitments via attendance at meeting as well as made financial contributions .

New National Star report that the highlight of the event apart from drinking and eating , the patron of the association Deacon Ndubuisi was presented a photo portrait by the association chairman being a thank you gift for his humanitarian character and ceaseless efforts in the welfare of members.

Members also parted home with Christmas gifts as part of the end of year package to support their families.
