Okuama Killing: Wanted Delta monarch turns themselves to law enforcement agency

HRM Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, has turned himself in to the police.

The shooting of seventeen troops in the Okuama hamlet led to the declaration of the king as wanted.

The Nigerian Army’s Defence Headquarters designated him sought together with Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, the President-General of Ewu, and six other people.

It was discovered that the king had called a news conference prior to turning himself in to the police.

My narrative: Monarch
“I am very surprised that my name as the monarch of the kingdom will appear in the list of wanted persons,” the traditional ruler reportedly said at the briefing.

“I have no involvement in the murders, nor have I ever encouraged the murdering of anyone. It goes against both my Catholic faith and my human philosophy.

It is a grave offense against human decency. In order to identify all those responsible, hold them accountable, and ensure that justice is served, they must search the proper locations and conduct in-depth investigations.

“I have no stake in this. Additionally, as I have stated, the state administration is aware of the upheaval I have been experiencing.

“And as I speak, the government has made plans to invite the opponents shortly before these events occurred.

“(The plan was) to extend an invitation to those who are opposing me within the kingdom to make amends so that I may enter and take the throne as its queen.

“I’ve been unable to organize anything. not even my customary council. Nothing in the kingdom has been done by me.

Thus, at this point, I hardly know anything. I am ignorant and lack any information. I’m just now finishing up the arrangements that will allow me to control the kingdom,” he continued.
