Oshiomhole Congratulates Okpebholo On Election Tribunal Victory

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has expressed his delight over the verdict delivered by the three-man Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja. The tribunal, in a unanimous judgment today, affirmed Governor Monday Okpebholo as the duly elected Governor of Edo State in the September 21, 2024, governorship election.

through a statement issued to the press by his chief of staff. The decision, according to Hon. Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole, is an expression of the people’s will and evidence of the legal process’ thoroughness. He claimed that before reaching their ruling, the judges carefully considered each motion, piece of evidence, and witness statement.

After the regrettable years of PDP misrule, Oshiomhole said, “This verdict is once again a clear testimony that the people of Edo State truly chose Okpebholo to rescue the state.” It is anticipated that the PDP and its candidate for governor will see that more legal battles are pointless after this tribunal victory. Rather, they ought to collaborate with Governor Okpebholo to further the outstanding accomplishments he has recorded within a very short period.”

Oshiomhole also urged the petitioners to change their minds, stressing that protracted legal action would only divert attention from the Okpebholo administration’s developmental objectives. He also thanked the members of the APC party throughout the state, especially those who came to Abuja to testify as witnesses, and everyone who supported the governor during the court case.

“There is a new Edo,” Oshiomhole said. “We must all work together to support Governor Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, in achieving their goal of a prosperous Edo State where economic stability, peace, and security flourish.”
