From Henry Iyorkase, Makurdi
Pastor (names withheld) and four others, yesterday, escaped kidnappers along Makurdi-Naka Road in Benue State.
New National StarĀ checks leant the incident occurred at about 7a.m. while other travellers were declared abducted by suspected kidnappers in the state.
An eyewitness recounted the pastor and the others were travelling to Naka, Headquarters of Gwer-West Local Government Area when the incident erupted.
It was learnt that the clergy man booked for a commercial van leaving his car at home further discovered some of the occupants in the vehicle were abducted and taken away to unknown destination.
Attempts to clarify the development with Benue Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, were futile as several calls on her mobile line could not be returned.
However, the council chairman of Gwer-West LGA, Hon. Ormin Torsar Victor, confirmed the development, adding we have suffered incessant attacks resulting in several loss of lives in his council.
Ormin called on relevant security operatives to nip this menace in the bud, saying there is severe bloodshed in the land suing for peace and tranquility in the state.
