PDP crisis: Bala Mohammed mobilizes Govs against Damagun

Acting National chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Iliya Umar Damagun is currently in a battle to save his seat as some anti Nyesom Wike members of the PDP governors Forum are ssid to be mobilizing to axe him at the planned October 24 National Executive Com.ittee (NEC) meeting of the party
It was gathered that a faction of the party led by the chairman  of the forum, Governor, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has approached the court seeking an ex parte order to hold the party’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting.
The move deepened the crisis in the party as some stakeholders, especially those loyal to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike opposed the move.
The new suit to hold the NEC meeting is coming even as a Federal High Court I  Abuja had ea6 issued an order barring the party from removing Damagun

Meanwhile, former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has joined in the call for the sack of the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum
The former governor, who is in the race for the party’s national championship position, made the call during an expanded caucus meeting of the PDP in Makurdi.
Senator Suswam noted that Damagum has turned the party into a business venture and insisted that he is not qualified to remain in the party’s leadership.
He said, “Damagum must go whether they like it or not.”
Suswam warned that the PDP national leadership under Damagum is only interested in destroying the party, but vowed  that he would not allow that to happen.
He accused the national party leadership of colluding with other negative elements to undermine the party.
Suswam, who accused some party leaders of conspiring to hold a “kangaroo local government and state congresses in Benue State,” wondered how there could be no wards and local government congresses, yet delegates were drawn for the conduct of the state congress, describing it as a sham and stating that it would not stand.
