Police Charge Ex Imo Governor Ohakim For Fraud

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced trial against the former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The inspector general of police charged him on a Three count criminal charge. Ohakim was accused of giving false information against one Chinyere Amuchuenwa, that he gave her One Hundred Million (N100,000,000) for his 2019 governorship election campaign.

The police also alleged that Ohakim used the name of the Minister of Works and Housing, Raji Babatunde Fashola as the owner of a plot of land in Ikeja, Lagos State thereby committing an offence punishable under section 140 of the penal code law of Northern Nigeria.
