Police Confirm Abduction Of Punch Journalist, 2 Children

The FCT Command of the Nigeria Police has confirmed the abduction of a journalist with the Punch Newspaper, Ikechukwu Nnodim, and two children in Abuja.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mariam Yusuf on Thursday said the journalist and the children were abducted from their residence at the popular Arab road in kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The PPRO confirmed that the kidnappers also attacked Nnodim’s neighbour, Mrs. Faith Gbeyide, a widow and went away with her two sons. The Police Public Relations officer said the victims’ houses are located at the base of a hill in the isolated part of Arab road.
The abductors, who are about five men were said to have scaled the fence of the victims’ house and entered their compound ordering them to open their doors.
Yusuf Mariam also confirmed that the family are yet to be contacted by the abductors.
The PPRO also said that the command has launched a rescue operation in search of the victims.
