President Tinubu speaks out about Rivers crisis

President Bola Tinubu broke his silence on the protracted political turmoil in Rivers State on Tuesday.

Tinubu disclosed that he had anticipated the issue during a meeting with the Pan Niger Delta Forum, or PANDEF, leaders in the State House’s Council Chamber in Abuja.

Given that the Supreme Court had already rendered a decision on the issue, he advised PANDEF to go back home and pursue peace in conformity with the law.

The president said that he had worked to promote peace in the state in a number of ways, both in private and in public.

Tinubu emphasized the significance of upholding the rule of law, saying: “If there is no rule of law, I should not be here as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“I have complete faith in our legal system. Although mistakes might be made by humans, the Supreme Court’s decision is final.

Siminalayi Fubara, the state governor, promised on Tuesday to carry out all of the apex court’s decisions in order to bring peace back to the state.
