Volodymyr Zelensky, president of Ukraine, accused Russia on Thursday of firing over 40 missiles and 40 drones at Ukraine during the course of the night.
According to Zelensky, “critical infrastructure” across the nation was the aim of the missiles and drones fired at the city of Kharkiv.
Zelensky posted on X, saying: “Russia fired more than 40 missiles and 40 drones at Ukraine overnight.”
“Shahed” drones and a few missiles were successfully shot down. Regretfully, not all of them.
“Kharkiv and the surrounding area were the targets of another heinous missile attack.”
According to Zelensky, infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, the southern cities of Zaporizhzhia and Odesa, as well as the western city of Lviv, which is close to the Polish border, were also targeted.
He declared, “Critical infrastructure was once again targeted by Russian terrorists.”
In recent months, Moscow has intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, conducting some of its largest aircraft bombardments of the two-year conflict.
Zelensky urged Western allies of Ukraine to give more air defense systems and to stop “turning a blind eye.”
Following “massive shelling,” hundreds of rescuers have been sent to various locations throughout the nation, according to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Igor Klymenko.
He claimed, “The Russian military attacked five regions of Ukraine for several hours, hitting critical infrastructure.”
