The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has expressed sadness over the sudden death of Hon. Mohammed Idris, the eldest son of former Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
It was gathered that the former Member of the House of Representatives, who represented Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituencies at the National Assembly, from 2011 to 2015, slumped and died on April 10, 2024, in Abuja shortly after observing Ed-El Fitr Prayers.
Prince Audu, in his condolence message made available by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, commiserated with the former governor, Ibrahim Idris, the family of the deceased, and the entire people of Kogi East over the ill-fated incident.
The Minister described the death of Mohammed Idris as a monumental loss to society, his community, and to the entire people of Kogi State where he made tremendous impact.
Prince Audu said that the late Mohammed Idris who was a successful businessman, never failed to preserve the legacies of his father both in the business and political landscape.
He therefore encouraged former Governor Ibrahim Idris to take solace in the fact that his son lived a life well spent, although short, but would be remembered for his service to humanity, his people, and society.
“We are grateful to Almighty Allah for the life well spent of Hon. Mohammed Idris, where he made a visible impact on the lives of people, a public service of commitments with integrity, and the business world where he was truly accomplished.
“His death is not just a loss to his family, but to the entire Kogi East, the State, and to the many who had the opportunity of crossing paths and interacting with him including myself,” Prince Audu stated.
The Minister prayed that Almighty Allah grant late Hon. Mohammed Idris, Aljanah Firdaus, and his family the fortitude to bear this great loss.
