PROSPERITY AGENDA: Bayelsa Govt Canvasses Sustained Support, Prayers

As the yuletide fast approaches, the Bayelsa State Government has called on all Bayelsans to remain steadfast in their prayers and support for the peace, stability and prosperity of the state.
The Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, made the call at the marriage reception of former Miss Dise Teibowei, daughter of the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Moses Teibowei, and her husband, Mr. Collins Tamuno, at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, in Yenagoa at the weekend.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo said the present administration in the state was focused on its infrastructural drive, despite the paucity of funds occasioned by the prevailing adverse economic situation in the country.
He said what the government needed at this time to enhance development and prosperity was for Bayelsans to continue to support and pray for the Governor and his administration’s policies and programmes to succeed.
According to him, the Senator Douye Diri-led government is poised to roll out the drums to mark its second anniversary in office by February next year.
He said the upcoming anniversary celebration would also provide an opportunity for the administration to showcase its completed and ongoing projects across the state.
While congratulating the couple on their successful wedding ceremony, the Deputy Governor warned against third party interference and urged them to embrace prayer, unity and tolerance in their marital journey.
In her remarks, the Bayelsa First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Diri, advised the couple to form the habit of watching their wedding video together to refresh their memories of the pieces of advice that were given to them by the clergy and other well-wishers.
Dr. Diri who expressed confidence that the couple would make it, warned however that God would hold them accountable if they failed to make their marriage succeed.
She advised them to make each other a best friend and the most important partner to build a peaceful home.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Iselema Gbaranbiri, urged the couple to always have at the back of their minds that challenges would come their way as they sojourn in marriage, but that what counts is their ability to overcome.
He said they would do well if they walk in the established norms of marriage and sustain the good parental upbringing they both received from their families.
