The Adamawa Muslim Council on Saturday advised well-to-do individuals to assist less privileged persons during and after the month of Ramadan fasting by Muslims for more rewards from God.
Malam Gambo Jika, the council’s Chairman gave the advice when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola.
“The well-to-do should assist those who do not have during this fasting period to earn rewards.
“When you give a fasting Muslim something to break his or her fast, you are sure of getting rewards from God.
Jika also urged traders to desist from inflating the prices of goods, but to reduce prices for divine blessings.
According to him, price increases to accumulate wealth is against the dictates of Islam.
He stressed that the Ramadan fasting period is the time that people should cushion the effects of hardship on others for rewards and blessings.
Jika urged clerics delivering Ramadan lectures to adhere strictly to the tenets of Islam and to shun the use of hateful wards that could incite conflagration.
