The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked the people of the South-East not to surrender their guns to anybody.
Media and Publicity Secretary of the secessionist group, Emma Powerful said this on Thursday in a statement made available to journalists.
The police authorities had at several times warned Nigerians in unlawful possession of illegal weapons to voluntarily return the weapons to police stations or public armoury nearest to them.
But IPOB in the Thursday statement enjoined the people of the area not to listen to anybody in that respect, stating that it was not for nothing that the governor of Zamfara State, Muhammad Bello Matawalle, had recently asked residents of his the state to procure guns for self defence.
The group’s statement read, “Following the direct instruction by the Zamfara State Governor to his people to secure guns for self defence against bandits and terrorists rampaging his state and the straight order to the State Police Commissioner in Guzou to register and license any gun brought to them by the citizens of Zamfara State, we the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to reference our earlier press release to stop the south-East citizens never to surrender their guns to Fulani controlled federal government of Nigeria.
“We wish to ask the rational behind singling out only South East to surrender their guns in Nigeria. If they want Fulani taken over by terrorists they let us and stop prevaricating and talking like confused man thinking they can caged Igbo man.
“The recent statement and order from the Governor indicates that he loves his people much and can never compared with the South East governors who always celebrate and pops champagne over the killings of their own people by terrorists, bandits, the Fulani terrorists masquerading as Nigerian soldiers, police, DSS and other security agencies in Nigeria.
‘Every sons and daughters are aware of the rampaging Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in our bushes and forests which is among the compelling reasons why IPOB and its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu formed and inaugurated ESN security outfit without our Governors’ input nor sponsorship of any kind.
“Having formed a disciplined and classical security outfit which possesses the capacity and capabilities to confront the terrorists and jihadists in our land. Our Governors and evil politicians had the moral justification and lacking in conscience to challenge IPOB-ESN and its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over the formation of Security outfit without their knowledge but these people failed to provide for our people, our region a conducive environment in the region.
“Our governors, political class and elders should carry out self assessment, stewardship, state and regional progress appraisal of them when compared with other governors in the North.
“Our mothers, sisters and wives in massive Jubilation can attest that IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has brought a new life in them which he reassure them that they can go to their farms again. sense of belonging sequel to the unveiling of ESN for Which they can now confidently go to their their farms. Our Governors did not support nor financed the security outfit yet, instead they created the calivoreous calibanists Ebubeagu militia to attack ESN.
“We commend the Governor of Zamfara state and his Government for realising the importance of educating and instructing his people to acquire arms for self defence against bandits and terrorists.
“But laughable enough, the South East Governors take orders from DSS, Police commissioners, Police DPOs Army Commanders instead question them why them why they intimidate their subjects award them money to kill their citizens cowardly in every state, they instruct them to chase their brothers and sisters and kill them.
‘One thing is certain for them in the South East region especially to those sponsoring criminalities in order to discredit and tarnish the image of ESN operatives and IPOB volunteers, that they have failed as long as IPOB and ESN exists and they cannot use Fulani to Islamise and Fulanize us in Nigeria until Biafra is fully restored no matter the effort they exerts against IPOB, Biafra must come.”
