Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on Friday, May 20, 2022, received Senator Uche Ekwunife, representing Anambra Central at the National Assembly.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, in his release said, the Senator who was accompanied by some traditional rulers, presidents-general and other stakeholders from her senatorial zone told Governor Soludo that she came to formally congratulate him on his historic victory in the last gubernatorial election.
She said Governor Soludo had always shown knowledge and competence going by the way he is governing the state.
Senator Ekwunife said she was in government house with her entourage not as a member of a political party but as an Anambra representative at the centre.
She commended Governor Soludo for the revised budget recently presented to the State House of Assembly and added that she had studied the budget and was glad emphasis was placed on infrastructure
Senator Ekwunife also assured Governor Soludo of the readiness of Anambra Central to partner with him in ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Anambra State as well as the empowerment of youth across the State.
Responding, Governor Soludo thanked Senator Uche Ekwunife and her entourage for the visit.
He described Senator Ekwunife as amazon and a true daughter of the soil who has always shown solidarity and support in so many ways to the government of Anambra State.
Governor Soludo, therefore, called on other representatives of the state to collaborate with his administration to build a liveable and prosperous homeland, irrespective of party affiliation or religious inclination.
Governor Soludo re-emphasized his government’s commitment to nurturing strategic and special partnerships with the Federal government, the international community, captains of industry, and NGOs in moving Anambra State forward.
He also harped on the need to have quality representation at the centre, stressing that it was necessary in order to maximize the great potential in Anambra State.
Also present at the occasion were the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Uche Episeni Okafor, Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Deputy Chief of Staff/ Chief Protocol officer, Hon Chinedu Nwoye and others.
