Senator Ahmad Lawan, the president of the 9th Senate, has urged military officials to look into the killing of three innocent citizens by soldiers in Gashu’a, Yobe State’s headquarters of the Bade local government area, right away.
In response to the unfortunate occurrence, the former Senate President made the call in a statement that he personally signed on Sunday.
The Nigerian Army must make steps to guarantee that those guilty for the violent crimes are held accountable, according to Lawan, the current chair of the Senate Committee on Defense.
“The Gashua community has consistently been a tranquil location with composed citizens who consistently support and collaborate with the military, paramilitary, and in fact all government agents functioning within the town,” he said.
In addition, he pleaded with the locals to be calm and assured them that he had already spoken with military authorities to make sure the perpetrators were found and dealt with legally.
He made it clear that justice would be done.
The legislator expressed sympathy to the families affected by the unfortunate event that claimed their loved one’s life.
