The Director-General of the National Institute for Sport and the immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu has inaugurated the Student Union Government (SUG) of the Institute in Lagos.
In his address, Shaibu drew from his experience as a student union activist, emphasizing leadership, advocacy, and service to others.
As the Director-General of the National Institute for Sport, Shaibu’s presence at the inauguration highlights his devotion to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
He pledged support and guidance to the SUG executive, led by Ayoola Lateef Oluwatosin, assuring them of his unalloyed commitment to their success.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries within the institution and from Edo State, including the Registrar who supervised the election, Bursar, Acting Librarian, member representing Akoko-Edo constituency II, Hon. Donald Okogbe, Charles Olubayo, Hon. Sylvester Amune, Hon Mustafa, and others who traveled from Edo State.
Shaibu charged the students to harness the power of their voice and actions, pushing boundaries and advocating for what is right.
The inauguration marked another chapter in the history of the National Institute for Sports, with high expectations that the SUG executive will work tirelessly to promote the welfare and interests of their fellow students.
