In their bid to prepare well for the total lockdown in the Southeast zone, as ordered by Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, residents of Anambra State, Monday, defied the Monday sit-at-home order to make last minutes shopping.
Consequently, some shops in the streets and roads that shut, opened for customers to also avoid losing sales for two consecutive days,
According to a trader in Onitsha, Mr. Mkemdilim Akanehu, “Tomorrow lockdown will be severe because of the arraignment of Nnamdi Kanu in court.
“IPOB has since suspended the non existent Monday sit-at-home order, but this time, it ordered that there will be total lockdown in solidarity and that is why people rushed to make purchases against Tuesday”.
Also reacting, Mrs Joy Onyenoro, a trader at Nkpor, near Onitsha, added that, “I have just bought one or two items from the streets to be ready for the Tuesday lockdown.
“We have two governments in Nigeria, agitators for independence and Buhari-led government. Others are terrorists and criminals who go for ransom.”
Also reacting, a student who pleaded anonymity, said that, “there is problem everywhere in Nigeria, ASUU is having its own problem with Federal Government, bandits and other criminals are there looking for who to devour, Nigeria we hail thee.
“I have made my own purchases against tomorrow total lockdown in the Southeast zone. That is what the period calls for, one has to obey, to save his life.”
