Anambra State government has directed all categories of schools in the State to ensure immediate resumption of full academic activities on Mondays.
Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh who disclosed this on Thursday said a letter to that effect had earlier been issued.
“At the instance of the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, all heads of schools, whether public, private, mission or returned schools are asked to heed to the directive in their own best interest.
“The Governor has ordered immediate closure of any school in Anambra State that fails to resume on Monday,” she said.
The Governor had on Monday shut down Onitsha main market for one week over traders compliance to illegal sit-at-home order which had crippled commercial activities in the market on Mondays.
