Super Falcons battled to win South Africa during Paris 2024 qualifier – Ajibade

Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons, refuted suggestions that the team played defensively during their Tuesday matchup in Pretoria versus South Africa.

The teams of Randy Waldrum managed to hold the Banyana Banyana to a scoreless draw in the second leg of their qualification match for the 2024 Olympic Games.

With a 1-0 overall victory, the outcome guaranteed their trip to Paris 2024.

The Super Falcons, according to Ajibade, who scored the game-winning goal in the first leg, played to win in South Africa.

The Atletico Madrid attacker told reporters, “We didn’t hold back, we wanted to score goals.”

“We wanted to play at home in Abuja, the way we played in the first leg, but we respect South Africa.”
