Nigerian politician and businessman based in Italy, Francis Onabis has advised former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to clear himself of any financial improprieties during his period as governor.
Onabis, says Nigeria should not be turned to a lawless country where the laws favour only the rich.
“No man should be above the laws of the land and Yahaya Bello should not be an exception, anyone who commits an offence should be punished according to the laws of the land” he says.
He also advised that the police officers who prevented EFCC from arresting the former governor should be summarily dismissed from service as they have abdicated their loyalty which should first be to the Nigerian state.
He also advised the Inspector general of police to withdraw all police orderlies attached to former governors and other VIPs in the country.
