In a decisive move to shape the trajectory of the Central African Republic’s international relations, President Touadéra has announced the formation of the Moloua Government for the 7th Republic. This transformative step, following the announcement of the new Fundamental Law on August 30, 2023, underscores President Touadéra’s commitment to a revolutionary era, breaking away from deep rooted practices.
The newly appointed Moloua Government, comprised of 32 ministers, represents a strategic blend of continuity and fresh perspectives. Notably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains under the adept leadership of Sylvie Baïpo Temon, emphasizing the critical role she plays in steering the nation’s diplomatic endeavors.
As part of the reshuffle, key changes include Pr Richard Filakota assuming the role of the Ministry of Plan and Economy, and Justine Lina Bemaka-Souï succeeding Virginie Baïkoua in Humanitarian Action, Solidarity, and National Reconciliation.
In a noteworthy shift, Sylvie Baïpo Temon retains her position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirming her role as a stalwart diplomat and pivotal figure in Central Africa’s global engagements. The President’s choice emphasizes the importance of diplomatic prowess in the evolving international landscape.
Other changes include; Hippolyte Robard Ngaté overseeing the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Rodolphe Héritier Bonheur Doneng-Wanzoumon leading the Ministry of Promotion of Youth, Sport, and Civic Education.
The Ministry of Secretariat General of the Government and Institutional Relations sees Ernest Mada replacing Maxime Balalou, while the Ministry of Communications and Media witnesses the rise of Serge Ghislain Djorie.
The President Touadéra also emphasizes a break from traditional practices, promoting efficiency and accountability. Notably, Sylvie Baïpo Temon’s continued leadership in foreign affairs stands out as a testament to the nation’s dedication to strengthening its global standing.
With President Touadéra’s firm stance against inefficiency, this revamped team faces the challenge of proving that the 7th Republic thrives on strong institutions rather than “strong men,” as he echoes in his declarations. The success of this new government hinges on its ability to embody the revolutionary ideals promised for a brighter future in Central African Republic.
